Eight Strings & a Whistle

This year’s P.A.T.H. Arts Entrepreneurship residency, featuring Eight Strings & a Whistle, will run from March 22-24 at Southeast’s River Campus. The residency events will include masterclasses and career workshops and will conclude with a performance of the guest ensemble on March 24 at 7:30 p.m. in Shuck Recital Hall. There will be a free concert preview that afternoon at 12:30 p.m. in the Atrium of the Cultural Arts Center, where the community will have the opportunity to meet the artists.<br/><br/>Eight Strings & a Whistle, a New York-based flute, viola and cello trio, will present a program full of sensuous colors and textures. Featured works include the mystical Two Journeys by Pamela Sklar and Three to Get Ready by David Bennett Thomas. The program is rounded out with Kyle Soliz's Radiance, a work bursting with color; a deep and lyric trio by Hungarian composer György Kósa; and Jorge Amado's Eidos II, which will have you dancing in your seats.
