The Renville County Board of Commissioners is seeking federal funds for an estimated $2,656,900 improvement to a portion of Renville County Road 21 serving the Southern Minnesota Beet Sugar Cooperative. The county was awarded $200,000 in state funds which will be applied toward a 20% local share of the project.
Area communities are looking to housing development strategies to address a growing need, and public-private partnerships have been invaluable in creating new housing projects. That public assistance helps bridge a gap that has been more than a decade in the making between the costs of construction and development and market values in rural communities.

OLIVIA A lunch-and-learn for grants and resources for businesses and nonprofits impacted by COVID-19 will be held virtually Jan. 13 by the Renville County Housing and Redevelopment Authority / Economic Development Authority, according to a news release from the organization.
Attendees will learn more about federal, state and county programs and resources for businesses and nonprofits.
