OMAHA, Neb. (UND Athletics) – After clinching the National Collegiate Hockey Conference’s regular season title with two weeks remaining, UND head coach Brad Berry took the opportunity to allow some players that were not at full-strength health-wise a brief respite with a single game at Omaha in the road finale of the season. That meant three of UND’s leading scorers all stayed back in Grand Forks while junior Jasper Weatherby continued his hot streak to lift the Fighting Hawks to a 4-2 win Friday evening at Baxter Arena.
Shane Pinto (28 points), Jordan Kawaguchi (26 points) and Grant Mismash (18 points) were all out of the lineup along with Gabe Bast but the UND power play maintained its torrid pace over the past few weeks as North Dakota tallied three more PPGs in the win. Colorado College Falls to No. 3 North Dakota, 4-1
GRAND FOEKS, N.D. Despite a career-high 36 saves by Dominic Basse, Colorado College fell to third-ranked North Dakota, 4-1, Saturday at Ralph Engelstad Arena.
Jordan Kawaguchi and Shane Pinto each collected a goal and an assist for the Fighting Hawks (11-3-1), who defeated CC for the third time in the last 13 days.
Basse took everything North Dakota had for him in the first period, including seven shots during an early power play. The freshman from Alexandria, Va., made 18 saves in the first 20 minutes, the most by a Tiger goalie in one period this season.

CBS SPORTS NETWORK GAMES ANNOUNCED
The first half of the NCHC schedule with CBS Sports Network offerings was release Dec. 29 and North Dakota will have one in the four announced games. UND’s game at Denver on Jan. 18 will air on CBS Sports Network with the final four weeks still yet to be determined.

OMAHA, Neb. (UND Athletics) – Senior Grant Mismash redirected a shot in the final minute to break a 1-1 tie in fourth-ranked North Dakota’s 2-1 victory over third-ranked Minnesota Duluth Saturday afternoon in the NCHC pod at Baxter Arena.
North Dakota (6-2-1) got 23 saves from junior Adam Scheel and the penalty kill was sharp, killing all four Bulldog man-advantages in the win. UND moves within a point of UMD in the NCHC standings with the victory.
“Big emotional win, can’t have a letdown tomorrow,” Berry said about Sunday’s finale against Miami.
After a scoreless first, Collin Adams got things going on the power play for North Dakota. The senior potted his third goal of the season and UND’s NCAA-leading 11th on the power play to take a 1-0 lead at 13:15 of the middle frame.
