ORLANDO – FEB. 14, 2021 – The Delaware Blue Coats (3-0), the NBA G League affiliate of the Philadelphia 76ers, defeated the Agua Caliente Clippers (1-2), 108-101, on Sunday afternoon at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex near Orlando, Florida. 76ers two-way contract player Paul Reed posted a career-high 31 points (13-22 FG, 2-7 3FG, 2-3 FT) with 11 rebounds for his third consecutive double-double. The Blue Coats used a 10-0 run midway through the fourth quarter to grab the lead, en route to their third straight win to begin the season. It is the first 3-0 start in Delaware franchise history.

ORLANDO – FEB. 16, 2021 – The Delaware Blue Coats (4-0), the NBA G League affiliate of the Philadelphia 76ers, defeated the Greensboro Swarm (1-3), 127-98, on Tuesday night at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex near Orlando, Florida. 76ers two-way contract player Paul Reed totaled 19 points (8-16 FG, 1-3 3FG, 1-1 FT) and a rookie career-high 16 rebounds, including six on the offensive glass, with a steal and two blocks. Rayjon Tucker, also on a two-way contract with Philadelphia, posted a double-double of his own with 13 points, a career-high 10 assists, three steals and a block. The Blue Coats are one of two remaining unbeaten teams in the NBA G League, alongside NBA G League Ignite.

FEBRUARY 3: The Magic have officially signed Mason, announcing in their press release that they’ve waived Bone to open up the required two-way slot. Roy Parry of The Orlando Sentinel notes (via Twitter) that Mason should be able to forgo the usual quarantine period for a newly-added free agent, since he has been at the G League bubble in Disney.

The 34th overall pick in the 2017 draft, Mason has appeared in a total of 99 NBA regular season games for the Kings and Bucks over the last three seasons. While his NBA output (6.8 PPG on .397/.298/.757 shooting) has been modest, the 26-year-old had a huge year in the G League in 2019/20, averaging 25.3 PPG with a .502/.428/.815 shooting line in 24 games (30.2 MPG) and earning NBAGL MVP honors.

Those are two powerful quotes – the first from point guard Jordan Bone and the second from forward Jonathan Isaac – stated recently about Orlando Magic teammate Nikola Vucevic.
Others have made similar remarks about the 7-foot, 260-pounder, now in his 10th NBA season and ninth with the Magic.
At the time he was acquired by Orlando back in 2012 as part of the four-team blockbuster trade that sent Dwight Howard to the Lakers, Andrew Bynum to the Sixers and Andre Iguodala to the Nuggets, barely was he mentioned when basketball enthusiasts discussed and analyzed the deal.
