Hadestown’s Andre de Shields plays the title role in Red Bull Theater’s upcoming benefit reading. Ben Jonson’s comedy play follows Volpone, a nobleman that’s consumed by the idea of wealth equating to success. He’ll control anyone that comes his way, but will that leave Volpone to be manipulated himself? There’s also supporting performances from Hamish Linklater, Roberta Maxwell and Mary Testa.
