Washington County commissioners voted Monday to approve $750,000 for construction of a combined ambulance and fire station in Telford.
The request comes from Washington County/Johnson City Emergency Medical Service, which is working with the Limestone Volunteer Fire Department to build new facility on a site adjacent to the aging EMS Station 5. The facility will be located across from the Jonesborough Flea Market on U.S. Highway 11E.

The Washington County Budget Committee voted Wednesday to recommend to county commissioners later this month that the county contribute $750,000 to the estimated $2 million project. The facility would be constructed on a site that officials have already purchased adjacent to the existing EMS Station 5, which is located across from the Jonesborough Flea Market on U.S. Highway 11E.
