very active and there s little that can be confirmed. but reports out of colorado is that there was a lone gunman. and there is a suspect in custody right now. some people in an adjacent movie theater say they heard several shots. at first they thought it was part of the movie sequence, sound effects from the movie next door but it turned out to be the real thing. there is the scene right now. we understand that helicopters are also in the air trying to see if there may be any other shooters involved that police can take into kus do difficult. theaters are each being searched right now. every theater in that movie theater. again, police say up to 20 people may be injured in this shooting there. at this point, no reports of anyone actually killed. but we ll stay on top of it, aaron. richard jordan in the newsroom, thank you. right now, strong storms slam the d.c. area last night. we still have a possibility for them today. knocking out power to thousands of customers. righ

well, i don t think we should go to the moon. i think we should send politician up there sometimes. virginia is on the verge of requiring ultrasounds for every woman that wants to have an abortion. and rain is coming in that could cause problems in the morning. right in front of the white house a young woman was hit by a van. she was crossing the street. the accident still has constitution avenue closed down. jane wattrell has the details. reporter: reconstruction officers are here trying to find out how the young woman was struck and critically injured. it happened tonight at 17th and constitution. park police say the white van was traveling southbound on 17th street and crossed over constitution avenue when it hit the woman and pinned her under the vehicle. she was freed and taken to a local hospital where sheer has life threatening injuries. investigators are trying to figure out whether or not the victim was in a crosswalk when the accident occurred. the crash h
