Hundreds of people will gather in Cobb County Thursday afternoon to honor the life of Deputy Marshall Samuel Ervin Jr., the father of two and 10-year veteran of the Cobb County Sheriff's Office who was shot and killed in the line of duty.
Deputy Marshall Samuel Ervin, Jr. and Deputy Jonathan Randall Koleski were shot and killed while attempting to serve and arrest for a suspect wanted for theft last Thursday night near Marietta.
Cobb County Deputy Jonathan Randall Koleski will be laid to rest Wednesday after he was shot and killed in the line of duty last week. Officials estimate that nearly 1,000 law enforcement members will join the procession to honor one of their own.
