Those areas around the i95 corridor having some extremely heavy rain. A little closer to home in the capital city, nice pocket of dry air. Theres still rain back to the south and west and a lot of this rain is coming from the south and west so i do expect us to see more rain throughout the afternoon. But well probably catch a little break here soon. But that break will probably be relatively short lived. Now,ere not expecting this rain to last all day. It is moving through at a pretty good clip. Temperatures about where we should be for this time of year. Some spots much cooler, though. Look to the upstate, those areas still in the 40s. Even some stuff in the 30s. Saw some snow up towards the mountains of north carolina. Obviously, for us, being in the 40s and 50s, its been all rain. But we could see some more rain on the way. I think it will be gone by the time we get to the start of the weekend. Details of the weekend forecast coming up in a few minutes. Thank you. The gloves were of
Not a cloud in the skies. Look at the capital city, well be looking at more Cool Temperatures today. It is january and we expect the air to be cool. Its been particularly cool over the last couple of mornings with temperatures in the 20s the last couple of days. Now, clear skies for us this afternoon. Absolutely nothing to worry about in the way of rainfall, precipitation, right now not even clouds to speak of. Certainly no chance for rain today. Look for temperatures to be a little cool here to start the afternoon hours. Lot of spots in kind of the mid 40s. 47 for us here in the capital city. 47 in lexington. And 47 there in st. Matthews there as well. Kind of the center pocket of the midlands seeing the warmest air as of right now which is typically the case. We are the famously hot city. Not famously hot necessarily today but it will be a little warm. Well see temperatures climb into the low 50s this afternoon. Winds, light and variable. Much lighter than where they have been. As yo
And clemson takes 2421 lead. Tigers winners of 51 games in a row when leading after three quarters. In the fourth, tide had a field goal. Ensuing kickoff, onside kick to perfection. It even makes nick saban smile. Alabama goes up 3124. Clemson adds a field goal, ensuing kickoff, huge play on special teams. Kenyon drake, 95 yards justo stay inbounds and hits the pylon. Alabama goes on to win it 4540 the final score. Clemson comes up just short. You know, championship football is a game of few plays and thatseally what this one came down to, just a few plays. And give them credit for that. Going into this game, i was expecting to win. I thought we should have won. But like coach swinney said, didnt capitalize on. We had some missed miscues. Just the Little Things like that, its going to, you know, really force yourself in a hole. And its hard to beat a team like alabama if you make those mistakes. Right now, all of our hearts are broken. We really wanted, obviously to win this game and b
Blue being the snow and the green obviously just the plain old rain but notice the pink kind of creeping down to the south here as we get into parts of Richland County right now and we are seeing much cooler air as well. Look at some of the current conditions. Right now, 33 degrees. Light rain for us downtown. Not seeing much of the flakes flying or anything in the way of snowfall. We are seeing temperatures gradually cool down throughout the day. As we look outside downtown towards west columbia, you can see kind of a wet mess. Not keeping a lot of people off the roadways. People not shutting down due to this being cold rain for us. Its going to be cold for us and see more cold air kind of trickle in over the daytime hours and likely to see that rain kind of mix in to a freezing rain throughout the day today. So certainly something were keeping an eye on as temperatures get closer to the magic number of 32 degrees. Were right on the cusp of changing over from rain to freezing rain. An
