Joseph Finney had spent the evening drinking in his flat along with the victim and another man when a dispute broke out in the early hours of the morning. Jonathan Dunne, prosecuting, told Lincoln Crown Court that Finney mistakenly believed his medication had been stolen and during an incident that followed he sprayed one of the men, Paul Wade, with a fire extinguisher. The two men ended up scuffling on the sofa and Finney then left the flat and went to see his landlord.

The Taunton Cider Company takes over Stewley Orchard, Ashill

The 34-acre Stewley Orchard, at Ashill, is once again in the stewardship of The Taunton Cider Company. The original Taunton Cider firm, based in Norton Fitzwarren before it was taken over, planted the trees after buying the site back in the mid 1970s. The new company, set up with the same name in 2016, is now taking care of the 20 varieties of heritage apples grown at the site that will be returning to the press in the county town. Orchard manager Martin Ridler and master cider maker Bob Chaplin are part of the team bringing Stewley Orchard back to life. An annual yield of 300 tonnes of apples will be picked there to produce local cider at Cutliffe Farm, in Sherford.
