Quade Cummins, Jonathan Brightwell tied for fifth through 36 holes at NCAA Championship
Midway through stroke play at the NCAA Championship, Oklahoma’s
Quade Cummins and
Jonathan Brightwell are 3-under and tied for fifth at Grayhawk Golf Club. Cummins is projected to hold steady at No. 6 in the
PGA TOUR University Ranking, while Brightwell is projected to improve three spots to No. 10.
The tandem has led the Sooners to second place through 36 holes, as their 1-under team total is five strokes behind Oklahoma State. The Cowboys have been led by freshman Bo Jin, who is 8-under and leads by three over Arizona State sophomore Ryggs Johnston and Clemson senior
One tournament remains before the PGA TOUR University Class of 2021 is announced, as the top-15 will be finalized Monday, May 31, following the conclusion of stroke play at the NCAA Championship. The 72-hole event at Grayhawk Golf Club will feature 15 of the top-20 players in the PGA TOUR Univers.

The top-ranked Oklahoma softball team stormed through its Norman Regional last weekend, capping it off with a 24-7 rout of Wichita State in the championship game. The Sooners outscored three opponents a combined 50-12, set several NCAA postseason records and assured themselves of hosting Washington this weekend in a Super Regional at Marita Hynes Field.
OU will be in its 11th consecutive Super Regional. The winner of the best-of-3 series will advance to the Women s College World Series at Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City.
The OU men s golf team qualified for the NCAA Championships, but it had to come back from ninth place on the final day to do so.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. Freshman and Mountain West Player of the Year, Bastien Amat, is tied for second overall on Tuesday as he leads the University of New Mexico men’s golf team through two rounds at the NCAA Albuquerque Regional.
The Lobos are just three strokes from qualifying to advance to nationals as they are nipping at the heels of fourth and fifth place (South Carolina & Texas A&M) in a tie for sixth. UNM (571, -5) is also just seven strokes behind third-place Arizona State (-12).
No. 41 Oregon State leads the field with a score of 556 (-20) after a -13 showing Tuesday, followed by No. 22 Texas Tech (561, -15) and No. 12 Arizona State (564, -12).
