Pork prices seen to rise by P20/kg

The DA said it was coordinating with suppliers from Mindanao to address the shortage of supply in Luzon, which the agency attributed to the ASF that killed hogs and prevented other raisers from investing more due to contamination fears.
Christine Dacera laid to rest in GenSan

Dacera s casket was carried to the site by policemen, with the Philippine National Police (PNP) explaining that this was done to ensure that health protocols are followed amid the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. The deployment of policemen during the burial was meant to ensure minimum health protocols. We are in a pandemic, PNP spokesperson Brig. Gen. Ildebrandi Usana said in a mobile message.
Banks extend waiver of transfer fees

Philippine National Bank (PNB) Philippine National Bank is further extending the waiver for InstaPay and PesoNet fund transfer fees until March 31, 2021 to encourage more of its customers to use digital banking channels.
Philippine Savings Bank (PSBank) Philippine Savings Bank, the consumer banking arm of the Metrobank Group, will continue to waive fees for PaSend, and InstaPay and PESONet interbank fund transfers made via the Bank’s Mobile App and Online (Internet Banking) facilities until further notice.
Philippines to slow deployment of nurses to UK, Germany

Citing Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III, a report on GMA s 24 Oras Weekend on Sunday said the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) will still allow nurses to leave for the UK and Germany, provided that they sign a waiver. On Saturday night, President Rodrigo Duterte approved the two-week extension of the travel ban for all flights from the UK given the new COVID-19 variant reported in the area.
