Currently publisher of Paxtonâs newspapers in Middle Tennessee, Alexieffâs new responsibilities will include not only the New Era, but also The Messenger in Madisonville.

Alexieff has spent most of the past 20 years in Kentucky, first as city editor at the Owensboro Messenger-Inquirer and then as the top editor at the Bowling Green Daily News. He has also been editor of The Eagle Post in Oak Grove and The Messenger in Madisonville, so he is familiar with the region.
The Rotary Club of Hopkinsville is looking to the next 100 years. The club marked its 100th anniversary, and 71st anniversary of its hugely successful auction, amidst the pandemic chaos of 2020.
The club was forced to postpone its 70th annual auction in March, 2020. The 2020 auction was eventually moved to September, and conducted virtually. The auction still raised more than $250,000.
Now, the club is using what it learned throughout the tumultuous 2020 to bring its next auction to life.
The 71st annual Rotary Club of Hopkinsville auction will focus on building a better Hopkinsville. The auctionâs âBuilding the Foundationâ theme focuses not only the clubâs goal to keep building its community by funding the Rotary Scholars program, but also to fund its freshly announced foundation.
