The Willowfield Tavern was not only a fun place to hang out, eat, and have a drink, it was a great place to work. John and Susan Houghton lovingly created a comfortable and collegial work environment where everyone felt like family. I only worked one day a weekâI bartended the dayshift on Sundays back in the mid-â90s, and that became a day where people came by to talk about the issues in town, maybe have brunch, and solve the issues of the day over a few beers. My fond memories of my time there and the people with whom I worked are still with me more than 20 years later.
