Lee Evans netted Town’s first goal of the season as the Blues and Bolton Wanderers drew 1-1 at Portman Road on the opening day. Aaron Morley gave the visitors the lead from the penalty spot in the 25th minute, before Evans converted from a neatly-worked corner seven minutes before the break and the Blues looked much the more likely winners in the second half without being able to find a second goal.
Town boss Kieran McKenna will lead a side out for the first time on the opening day of a season when the Blues face Bolton Wanderers at Portman Road on Saturday afternoon in front of an expectant crowd in excess of 27,000.
Town youngster Pat Webber played the first 58 minutes and created the first goal as Aldershot beat Chelsea’s U23s 2-1 at the EBB Stadium earlier this evening.
