Greensill woes a headache for high profile Bishop

It’s been a shocker of a week for
Lex Greensill, the Bundaberg-born billionaire who founded the London-based finance group he named after himself. After Credit Suisse Group froze $US10 billion ($12.9 billion) worth of investment funds, Greensill Capital is contemplating filing for insolvency.
What does this mean for former federal foreign minister
Julie Bishop and her role with Greensill, announced last year? The Bish is distancing herself from the finance company at a speed that would do a daily runner proud.
“I am not a director or member of the Greensill Capital board,” Bishop says. “Julie Bishop and Partners provides advisory and consultancy services to Greensill Capital.”
Starz will premiere the limited series “
The Gloaming” on March 21st across all platforms. The network confirmed the premiere date with a first look trailer for the series, starring Emma Booth, Ewen Leslie, Martin Henderson, Aaron Pedersen, Rena Owen, Josephine Blazier, and Matt Testro.
Victoria Madden wrote and created the series, and serves as showrunner on the project. “The Gloaming” is a co-production with Madden’s Sweet Potato Films and John Molloy’s 2 Johns Productions, and ABC Signature.

Bruce Gordon takes Jon Adgemis to court over $10m loan

WIN Corp owner Bruce Gordon is locked in a legal tiff with his close confidant and investment adviser Jon Adgemis, arguing his private company is owed more than $6.4 million.
Mr Gordonâs private investment vehicle Birketu launched a lawsuit against Jaga Securities Pty Limited as trustee for The Eastern Property Alliance in late January. Birketu is the largest shareholder in Nine, owner of

Filings with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission revealed former KPMG deal maker Mr Adgemis is the sole director and 100 per cent shareholder of Jaga Securities. Jaga Securities is wholly owned by The Jaga Group, where Mr Adgemis is also the sole director. The Jaga Group wholly owns developer the Eastern Property Alliance Management.

Listed pub owner and operator Redcape Hotel Group has extended its post-COVID buying spree, after snapping up O’Donoghues Hotel in Penrith in western Sydney for $31 million amid a flood of new deals in the fast-recovering sector.
Alongside the acquisition of the large-format Irish-themed pub – the group s fourth purchase since November – Redcape said it expected earnings for the six months to December 2020 to be ahead of what it delivered in the prior half-year period despite higher compliance costs due to the pandemic, and declared an interim distribution of 1.83 cents per security.
