And while a maximum of 3.1 million of them could be administered in Canada every week, the country’s vaccine rollout is only operating at about half capacity, with 1.8 million people (58 per cent of 3.1 million) getting a shot in the last seven days. The maximum number is based on a survey of provinces’ and territories’ individual capabilities, which was compiled by the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC). The agency recently reported the figure to the House of Commons Health committee, following up on a request from NDP health critic Don Davies.
