GRANTS PASS, Ore. March 8 marks International Women s Day each year and home care workers from the Service Employees International Union hosted a car caravan in Grants Pass to show support of women around the world while highlighting intersectionality in the home care field.
87% of home care providers are women, disproportionately people of color. SEIU organizer, Renée Booker, said, We want our care providers to be treated and respected for the heroes that they are so we re here to lift up their voices and just unite with care providers and women all over the world to make our communities better and safer.
