Dozens of Howard residents testified against the bill at a Dec. 14 public hearing and urged state delegation not to dilute the will of voters as most Maryland school boards embrace all-elected models.
The board decided to forgo vetting the bill through its legislative committee in order to come out with an official stance ahead of a Dec. 14 public hearing.
Higher priority was given to renovations and additions at Oakland Mills and Centennial high schools, as well as to an addition at Thomas Viaduct Middle School. Construction of high school 14 was also added back to the list.
