Irish people are accessing radio stations here via digital means in greater numbers, according to the latest JNLR (Joint National Listenership Research) Radio in a Digital World report, compiled by Ipsos/ MRBI.
About 8% of the population, or 330,000 people, listen each day using a digital device, the report found.
Just under 5% listen via a mobile device, 2% on a PC and around 1.5% on a Smart Speaker and the remainder on a TV set or DAB (Digital Audio Broadcasting).
77% of Irish adults listen to radio on FM.
The report also found that younger audiences are listening to radio in significant numbers.

MORE THAN 80% of Irish people listen to the radio every weekday, according to the latest figures from a JNLR report.
The Joint National Listenership Research (JNLR) is a project conducted on behalf of the Irish radio industry to show listenership estimates.
In its most recent report entitled Radio in a Digital World, it found that one in 12 (8%) listen to the radio every weekday on a digital device.
