NEW HAVEN Mayor Justin Elicker and state and local environmental advocates Tuesday urged the state Department of Energy & Environmental Protection to reject a permit change that would allow a New Haven transfer station to accept household garbage.
All American Waste, located at 19 Wheeler St. and operated by Murphy Road Recycling, already accepts dry municipal waste and recycling.
The proposed permit change, which previously received tentative approval from the DEEP, would add putrescible municipal waste to that list.
