We speak to John Ponte From Tunnel to Towers Foundation He’s The Senior Director Of Construction. Maine Veteran Christy Gardner to Receive Mortgage-Free Smart Home from Tunnel to Towers Foundation. Tunnel to Towers Foundation has begun construction on a mortgage-free smart home in Oxford, Maine, for Army SGT Christina Gardner, who was catastrophically injured while serving abroad in 2006. Gardner lost both legs below the knees, incurred a lumbar spinal cord injury and skull fractures resulting in a traumatic brain injury, and lost two fingers on her left hand. The custom-built smart home will be designed to meet SGT Gardner’s specific needs, enabling her to live as independently as possible. The build will take place over the next two weeks and will culminate in a home dedication ceremony on Saturday, June 19. The Museum & Theatre prepares to open their new 30,000 square foot facility at Thompson’s Point, where they plan to welcome visitors beginning Thursday, June 24, 2021. More than 500 philanthropic individuals, families, corporations, and foundations contributed to the campaign which will allow the organization to expand its reach to over 200,000 visitors per year.
