Christ The King Church, Kohima Village win 1st Nagaland Catholic Choral Fiesta

Our Correspondent Kohima, Nov. 5 (EMN): The Catholic Association of Nagaland (CAN) presented its 1st Nagaland Catholic Choral Fiesta, a competitive event on the theme: “Una Fide Una Vice” (One Faith One Voice), consisting nine choir teams from across the state, at Capital Cultural Hall in Kohima on Saturday night. Christ the King Church, Kohima village, was declared the winners to take home a cash prize of INR 2,00,000, while first runners-up St. Francis De Sales, Kohima Town, won INR 1,50,000 and Mary Help of Christians, Cathedral, took home INR 1,00,000 for the second runners-up title. St. Paul’s Parish, Phesama, and St.Ignatius Parish, Razeba won consolation prizes, for which they received INR 50,000 each. Nagaland: CAN to organise 1st Nagaland Catholic choral fiesta

Our Correspondent Kohima, Oct. 27 (EMN): The Catholic Association of Nagaland (CAN) has announced that the association will be presenting the first Nagaland Catholic choral fiesta on the theme, ‘Una fide una voce’ (one faith one voice), with nine choral groups from across the state on November 5 at Cultural Hall in Kohima. The announcement was made by Johnny Ruangmei, president of CAN, during a press briefing on Thursday evening at Christ the King Church, Kohima village. An audition was conducted in a region-wise manner from more than 55 parishes in Nagaland in the month of August wherein nine choral teams from the districts of Kohima, Wokha, Tseminyu and Phek have been selected for the contest. The choral extravaganza will be a competitive event and cash prizes include INR 2,00,000 for the winner and INR 1,50,000 and INR 1,00,000 for first and second runner-ups receive respectively. NagaWrestleMania-9: Kezhaseluo-o Pienyü wins heavyweight title

Our Correspondent Kohima, Oct. 21 (EMN):  Kezhaseluo-o Pienyü took down Menuosetuo Yiese in straight bouts to win the coveted heavyweight championship title at the ongoing NagaWrestleMania-9 King of the Ring Series on Friday evening at IG complex in Kohima. Pienyü lifted the championship belt along with a cash award of INR 50, 000 while Yiese received INR 30, 000 as runner-up. Atuo Tevo and Dzieselatuo Keretsü received INR 15, 000 and 10, 000 respectively as the third and fourth position holders. Earlier, grappling for the third place title against Tevo, Keretsü pulled out in the first bout due to injury following which Tevo was declared the second runner-up. Nagas yet to become good host to 'peace', says NBCC General Secretary

Our Reporter Dimapur, Aug. 5 (EMN): Nagas take pride in the complement that they are hospitable, simple, honest and peace-loving but they have not become a good host to peace, said Rev. Zelhou Keyho, General Secretary of Nagaland Baptist Council of Churches (NBCC). Instead, ‘we have become complicated people, sticky and slippery with peace, and we have not being honest with peace and the cliché of peace-loving is becoming business,’ he added. The reverend was speaking at the inaugural programme of Peace Centre (North East Institute of Social Sciences and Research -NEISSR and Peace Channel), at the premises of St. Joseph’s School in Chümoukedima on Friday.
