Fishing at a lake close to home was a magnet for a young boy new to the East Range. As a returned Ranger, I’m not sure what current Rangers care to hear of the near past early days of the Taconite kaboom. Not that I have much to say of important economic or mining matters.
In 1961, the Froemming children celebrated their first Easter in Eveleth. Above, they pose for a picture with the wonderful Easter cake that George Brince brought them that day. This summer I attended my 50th class reunion of Eveleth High School. As I first drove into town, I saw this wonderful banner hanging on the
