Robert Hanssen was probably the most damaging Soviet spy against the U.S. during the Cold War and after for the Russians, and one of the most damaging in U.S. history. He was also a trusted FBI Agent in the perfect position to spy, as a counter-intelligence agent against the Soviets. His efforts, along with those of Aldrich Ames, another mole in our intelligence community who was operating at CIA at roughly the same time, caused a great many American agents overseas to be captured and killed. John will tell the story of what Hanssen did, how and why he was eventually caught, and what we learned to help protect us from similar problems in the future.
