Uber/Lyft Accident Compensation not as Straightforward as it Seems

Sponsored Story By StoryStudio April 15, 2021 6:47 pm In 2017, there were 49 fatalities of passengers in Ubers, 58 additional deaths of riders in 2018. Hundreds of other passengers have been injured while traveling in an Uber or Lyft ride service or in a collision with an Uber/Lyft driver. As riders, most of us assume these rideshare company drivers are the same as cabbies and bus drivers. In Connecticut however, rideshare drivers are not considered “common carriers” like taxis and busses. Not only are the general regulations different, but this also means the insurance the contractor’s company provides is different too, by statute a minimum of $1 million for an accident involving an Uber rideshare.
