Just 2.5% fewer Americans are expected to travel this year compared to 2019
It s an increase of nearly 40% compared to last year, when travel fell to 34.2m
An expected 43.6 million Americans will drive to their destinations, the highest on record for this holiday and 5% more than the previous record set in 2019
The top American destinations are those with entertainment on offer including Las Vegas and theme park capital Orlando
Other popular cities include Chicago, Seattle, Denver, and Atlanta say AAA
Top vacation rental spots are San Diego, Portland, Oregon and Anchorage
