PALMYRA (WINA) – Virginia Fuels wholesale President John Zehler says in his 50 years in the petroleum business, he’s never seen anything like the impact the Colonial Pipeline cyberattack have made on supply. This as gas stations are experiencing spotty product outages, and Zehler says the product is just not coming. He says he was in the business during the 1970s gas shortages and lines, and a number of other incidents affecting supply, and there has always been at least some supply even if “very, very short”. But there has been little to no product coming out.
Zehler says he’s “sort of tired of telling everybody ‘I don’t know’… but I don’t know”. He says he was up all Monday night talking to people from Houston to Miami to Chicago to New York, and no one knows what’s going on with the supply and when the pipeline will be back on.
