Columbia native Taylor Drennan will be recommended next week to the Columbia Board of Education to become the next principal at John Warner Middle School.
Drennan has been serving as the school’s interim principal this semester after CPS reported that Principal Jimmy Hale was out for the remainder of the year in mid-March.
Drennan has worked for Columbia Public Schools his entire career.
“I feel so fortunate to have been given this opportunity to continue to serve the students, families and staff at John Warner Middle School,” Drennan said. “I love this school and this community and I look forward to building upon the foundation that we’ve created so far.”
Developer plans subdivision near new Columbia middle school
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Engineers have submitted a plan for a new subdivision on Sinclair Road, across the street from a new middle school.
The developers of Sinclair Farms want to build a subdivision with hundreds of new home lots, cottage-style houses, townhomes, an apartment complex and possibly a few lots for businesses, according to plans submitted to the city of Columbia.
Crockett Engineering, the engineering company working on the project, plans to meet with the city later this month to discuss the plans.
The development is located south of West Nifong Boulevard and Sinclair Road.
