Joe Lamoree (1926-2020) Joseph Robert Lamoree, 94, of Beacon, died Dec. 17 at his home, surrounded by family members. Born in Beacon on June 7, 1926, he was the son of Robert and Margaret (Evans) Lamoree. After graduating from Beacon High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1944 and served for two years during World War II. For 36 years, he served as an officer for the state Department of Corrections and Community Supervision, retiring in 1986. Joe was a longtime parishioner of St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill. On Sept. 14, 1947, he married Audrey Francine Knapp, his high school sweetheart, at St. John the Evangelist Church in Beacon. Joseph and Audrey were married for 67 years until her death in 2015.
