I was asked to produce the gallery. It was one of my responsibilities when i joined the National Archives in 2006. Im a professional historian, but we write books. We generally dont do museum exhibits. So this is a challenge in public history. In other words, taking information and making it accessible to people who havent had a chance to prep for an exam before they walk into a new gallery. The other challenge is we inherited the National Archives took over the private Nixon Library. It was run from 1990 to 2007 by the private nixon foundations. The iranians are putting out a message, thats just false, it is pure blatant disinformation. They passed another message that said that the United States was removing forces. You can go see them, theyre there. I mention all of these things because its very important as the days proceed and as our diplomat efforts to change the nature of the Iranian Regime is doing go on, it is likely iran will continue to present thing that is are fraudulent, that are false. And we need to make sure that every news outlet, everyone who is seeing this understands whats true and what the Iranian Regime wants you to believe. That is truly important. Im heading out today.
