The puppy was born on March 18 this year. Former Rotary President John Selwyn Smith chose ‘Guide Dogs For The Blind’ as the special charity which £10,000 was raised. The first dog, Sabre, was named by the Presidents Committee and he was born in September 2019. A Rotary spokesperson said: “In the recent update received on his progress members were delighted to learn how well he was doing and that he would soon be wearing a Guide Dogs puppy jacket whilst out on training walks.” Rotary Zoom meetings have continued throughout the pandemic period and has allowed Rotary fellowship to continue which is such an important aspect of membership.
