Guam airport accredited as safe for travelers
By Steve Limtiaco
The A.B. Won Pat Guam International Airport has been accredited as a safe for travelers, the airport announced.
It received Airport Health Accreditation from the Airports Council International after submitting a 40-page application, outlining the programs and processes the airport uses to protect the health and safety of terminal users. The Guam airport is the first to receive accreditation in the Micronesia and Polynesia region, it stated.
“The ACI Airport Health Accreditation program provides yet another international recognition for the (airport) in its continued pursuit of ensuring proper health and hygiene standards are adhered to and follows the airport being the first on Guam to have been awarded the World Travel and Tourism Council’s “Safe Travels” Stamp back in July 2020,” said airport Executive Manager John Quinata.
