Turning to the crime beat. A man is behind bars after a robbery in stead this week. After a brief standoff. Police arrested 39yearold wesley ford at a stead home wednesday night around midnight. Hes charged with robbery with a deadly weapon, grand larceny and possession of stolen property. Police say he went to the maverick gas station on stead boulevard early monday morning and showed a handgun, before taking money from the clerk. As police approached his stead home, they say he stole a vehicle and fled from police, resulting in 3 schools being locked down. Officers thought their suspect was 19yearold rylin wolfe, who lived with ford. After investigating. Police ruled him out.
