AUBURN, Maine
Elite Airways in Auburn hosted an “Aircraft Pulling” event on Saturday to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Mid-Maine.
The fundraiser event consisted of teams who compete in pulling a 31,000-pound CRJ200 Aircraft, a length 15-feet. The team that pulled the aircraft 15-feet the fastest won a trophy courtesy of Maine Awards Roguewear in Lewiston.
Auburn Mayor, Jason Levesque, was there to Emcee the event. Big Brothers Big Sisters matches, family, and co-workers of team members got to watch participating teams compete, take pictures in front of the aircraft, and take turns exploring the aircraft after the pulling event was over.

The Jack Edwards Airport Authority has been gathering regional support for the creation of an Air Service Fund to develop new air service to new destinations.
Airport Manager Scott Fuller addressed the Gulf Shores City Council during the work session March 1 to request a pledge of support from the Gulf Shores City Council.
The U.S. Department of Transportation has set aside $18 million for communities to address air service and air fares in their communities. The Airport Authority is applying for a grant that requires a matching share but is prohibited from providing the match.

WILBRAHAM/HAMPDEN – Many towns have seen a boom of solar array installations over the past decade and Wilbraham and Hampden have been no different. However, that trend may be slowing down, at least for the foreseeable future.
Wilbraham Planning Director John Pearsall told Reminder Publishing that there are no proposed solar projects in front of the Planning Board. Although a solar company has approached a landowner off of Tinkham Road about the possibility of a new project, Pearsall cautioned that nothing formal is in the works.
That doesn’t mean that there isn’t movement in the solar landscape of Wilbraham, though. Two large-scale, ground-mounted solar arrays that have been in the works for the past couple of years are scheduled to come online in 2021. The solar farm at 126V Beebe Rd., owned by Blue Wave Solar and the ZPT Energy Solutions project at 676 T
