Tonight, the high-energy dance-pop banger that TrueBliss released after
Popstars. While each group rehashed the song in unique and innovative ways, it was he third group, which consisted of Le Art, Christabel Williams, Jireh Komene and John-Paul Foliaki (JP), who took the challenge home. They slowed the song right down and performed it as a soulful slow ballad, taking full advantage of the powerful vocals of each artist, and all four members of TrueBliss were in tears by the end of the performance. JP’s soothing tones gave way to Le Art’s seamless harmonies, before Jireh’s soulful belting and Christabel’s powerfully deep voice closed out the song. Each artist truly played to their strengths, and it was a masterful performance of collaboration and harmony.
When
Popstars contestant John-Paul Foliaki was challenged to write a letter to his younger self, he knew immediately what he would write about. In Monday night s episode of the reality show, the top 12 contestant sat down with a pen and paper and words began spilling out of him.

John-Paul Foliaki brought his fellow Popstars contestants to tears with an emotional performance. I was trying to explain to [my younger self], Don t be so frustrated. Don t think that your dreams are too big. [Don t listen to] people who are saying you can t do it , he says. I wanted to get that through to everyone, because anyone can relate to that message.
It’s especially amazing considering Skye felt panicked. In her interviews, Skye said she’d been feeling the nerves all day, and when the challenge was set, she declared that songwriting was not her forte and that she was feeling panicked. That was clearly unfounded, as her song was one of the most naturally fully-formed that we’ve heard so far. Her performance earned her a well-deserved place in the top 12, so it will be a thrill to see her spread her wings as the competition continues.
Does that mean we have our full top 12 now? We do. Joining Skye are (deep breath, here we go.): Christabel Williams, Avya Grace Trotter, John-Paul Foliaki, Dexter Go, Jireh Komene, Keira Jonkers, Te Ara Pukeroa, and Ilisapeti Filimoehala.
