Kwale and Mombasa counties could get up to Sh110 million annually for development projects from the sale of titanium.
This is after Base Titanium, the mining firm that is prospecting for minerals in Kwale, agreed to cede one per cent of revenue accrued from the sale of the minerals mined from the South Coast.

The cabinet secretary for Petroleum and Mining John Munyes has announced that oil exploration in Turkana is still on course.
CS Munyes said the government and partners are committed to getting enough oil in Turkana for commercialization.
“We are trying to look for funds for the construction of the pipeline and soon we will get a partner to build the pipeline from Turkana to Lamu with all accessories to transport oil,”
State to set up SEZ on Muhoroni land

Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Peter Munya said the government had identified a thousand acres belonging Muhoroni Sugar factory land, which will be used for the creation of the SEZ.
Part of the plans will see the government establish a textile factory in zone, which to boost exports to the US under the Africa Growth Opportunity Act (Agoa).
