Panel summons ex-CP, three others over Osun killing

Retired Commissioner of Police, who served in Osun State, Mr John Moronike, and Area Commander of Ilesha Command, Mr Joshua Atunise, have been summoned over alleged killing of a former student of Osun State College of Technology, Esa Oke, Taiwo Daniel, in 2008.
Two other police officers, simply identified as Omoyele and Muyiwa, were also asked by the state panel on police brutality to appear before it for unlawful arrest and maiming of a community leader, Chief Adanku Oyinlola in Osogbo in 2016.
At the Thursday’s sitting, the chairman of the panel, Justice Akin Oladimeji (retd.), said Moronike and Atunise were being asked to appear following non-compliance with the judgement of the court that ordered that the corpse of late Taiwo, who reportedly died in the cell of Nigeria Police Force in November 29, 2008 after he was shot at Ilo-Ijesa.
