When John Modesitt moved to Durango, he was drawn to the nature and the beauty of the area. When the 416 Fire caused Modesitt to store his artwork in the horse arena on his property, he realized the space could be utilized as a place to display his work in such a way that his daughter named the space Museum of Impressionism.
