Compostable packaging producer Tipa is expanding into North America and has hired Michael Waas as vice president of the region.

Waas brings with him 13 years’ experience from TerraCycle, where he played an integral role in expanding recycling programmes and partnerships with FMCG leaders including P&G, Mondelez, Nestlé, and Colgate-Palmolive.
John Michels
John Michels has also joined the team as senior director of sales and market development, with more than 30 years’ experience in packaging R&D at companies including PepsiCo and Kelloggs. And Gary Robinson joins as director of public affairs for North America, having previously worked for the likes of Kraft Foods, Amway and Newell Rubbermaid.

Itâs an early Wednesday morning at the Super One South store in Grand Rapids and the store is buzzing as approximately 20 ElderCircle volunteers take their assigned shopping lists to shop for older adults. When the last shopper has gone through the check-out lane this particular week, the volunteers will have shopped for many older adult households.Â
These shoppers are part of a group of more than 80 volunteers for the ElderCircle Groceries To Go grocery delivery program. The program has one goal â to deliver groceries to older adults in Itasca County.Â
In addition to volunteer shoppers, the program also utilizes volunteer order takers and delivery drivers who have all selflessly given their time and talents every week to make sure the most vulnerable of the areaâs population are still receiving food.
