FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - Steven Hjelm, 54, went missing on January 9 after leaving his sister’s apartment on 16th avenue near South Cushman Street. “We have no leads to where he has gone or where he is.” Loris Sears, Steven Hjelm’s sister, said during Saturday’s missing person vigil. His family says he left on foot, headed towards a corner store to buy cigarettes.

FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) -Over a hundred people gathered near downtown Fairbanks Saturday afternoon for a vigil and call to action over the high number of people that have gone missing in the Interior over the last year. Since May of 2020, eight people have disappeared from the Fairbanks area: August 17th, 2020 69-year-old Frank Minano’s truck was abandoned near the Old Nenana Highway; extensive searches did not locate Minano. © Provided by Fairbanks KTVF
