said it went against the p.o.w. code of conduct. that makes him a war hero. not because he was captured. in addition donald trump is absolutely wrong about senator mccain s record on fixing and reforming the va. he is a leader on trying to fix the broken va system for veterans. so, dan when it comes to the remarks and i guess the firestorm that s happened out of all of this, we had john mccain on morning joe today, he said he doesn t want an apology. he doesn t really care about that. he s not going to lower himself to try to achieve one but he feels there s p.o.w.s and veterans families that deserve one. will you try to get one? we won t waste our time. we d rather have focus on real issues like veterans going through at the va like the fact that our department of defense has real spending issues about all sorts of other problems that
are going on around the country. not this anymore. we won t waste a moment because the fact is doesn t sound like he ll apologize anyway. we are asking for feedback. do the comments on mccain make him unfit for the presidency. we have the results of what people are saying right now. do you think that that type of rhetoric does make him unfit to understand what it takes to command our nation s military? i think that type of rhetoric shows that he doesn t understand the sacrifice that goes into serving in the military. and he doesn t understand what veterans are facing outside of the uniform, particularly in regards to what they experience going through the va system. trying to blame those problems of the va on senator mccain is ridiculous. he doesn t have a comp prerehension
hi everybody. afternoon. i m thomas roberts. we begin with demands of donald trump to apologize for what he said about john mccain. this morning, both men appeared on morning tv shows, both talking about trump s controversial comments over the weekend in iowa. trump says he said nothing wrong. mccain said trump needs to apologize to all veterans and not him specifically. here are portions of what each had to say. i said very clearly, he is a war hero. i have absolutely no problem with that. what i do have problems with is that he called 15,000 people that showed up for me to speak in phoenix, he called them crazies because they want to stop illegal immigration and they were insulted. does donald trump owe you an apology? no i don t think so.
