David Pearl, District 8 VFW commander in Bucks County, and his wife, Judy, pack Christmas stockings for statewide VFW effort to send 1,274 stockings to Pennsylvania National Guard soldiers deployed overseas. Many of the packages some packed by Westmoreland County posts began arriving Monday, according to Westmoreland VFW District 27 commander Carl Trusiak of Apollo.

Items collected last month by Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 7622 in New Florence to be shipped to Pennsylvania National Guard soldiers deployed overseas. It was part of a statewide VFW effort to send Christmas stockings to Pennsylvania National Guard soldiers.
