Torio and Chicano were 1-2 in the elite male category, but interestingly enough, the former beat the latter, the heavy favorite for the said event, by two seconds to win the gold. Torio completed the race course at two hours, 22 minutes, and 46 seconds, while Chicano crossed the finish line at 2:22:48.
