(SunStar file) + May 16, 2021 THE Provincial Board (PB) has requested the Regional Inter-Agency Task Force (RIATF) and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) to lift the ban on cockfighting. The resolution was authored by PB Member Celestino Martinez III and sponsored by PB Member John Ismael Borgonia. It was carried unanimously during the PB’s 15th regular session on May 3, 2021. On Oct. 15, 2020, the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) allowed the operation of licensed cockfights in areas under modified general community quarantine (MGCQ), as long as health and safety protocols are observed.

Swab-upon-arrival rule in Cebu receives support

May 12, 2021 MEMBERS of the Regional Inter-Agency Task Force (RIATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases and local chief executives of Cebu and Mandaue cities on Wednesday, May 12, 2021, expressed support for the so-called One-Island policy to swab returning Filipinos upon arrival. However, Department of Health Central Visayas (DOH 7) spokesperson Dr. Mary Jean Loreche said this policy should exclude transit passengers and those who are not from Cebu. She said returning overseas Filipinos (ROF) transiting through Cebu should comply with the national rule of facility-based quarantine for 10 days, swab test on the seventh day, and additional four days of home quarantine, in case of negative result.

IATF defied as Cebu SP OKs ordinance easing travel restrictions

Published May 10, 2021, 5:25 PM CEBU CITY – A proposed ordinance that runs counter to the travel restrictions set by the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF-MEID) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Disease has been approved by the Cebu Provincial Board or Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP). The Provincial Board passed Monday an ordinance titled Easing the Restrictions for Persons Entering the Province of Cebu in Observance of the IATF-MEID Guidelines as of January 21, 2022, and the IATF-MEID Resolution No. 98-A, Series of 2021 and Defining the Protocols to be Observed by Repatriated Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and Returning Non-OFWs Traveling to the Province of Cebu. The passing of the ordinance came a few days after the IATF-MEID approved the recommendation of the Department of Health (DOH) to move the COVID-19 testing for inbound travelers to the seventh day of quarantine.
