Defence Headquarters, (RBDF): In enforcing the Commander Defence Force, Commodore Raymond King’s strategic objective of strengthening relationships with stakeholders and the community at large as a socially corporate citizen, the Royal Bahamas Defence Force’s Veterans Association teamed up with management and staff of Quality Home Center (QHC) on December 15, 2020, to donate a hefty supply of Christmas gifts to the Royal Bahamas Defence Force.

NASSAU, BAHAMAS With the aim of boosting morale, the Welfare Section of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF) sent “recreational supplies” to members of the force who are currently on deployment, the force announced yesterday.
Items like basketballs and board games will be sent to teams stationed on Abaco and Inagua who may be away from their families, according to an RBDF statement on the gift-giving.
“With the holiday season approaching, the Welfare Section of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force is ensuring that the morale and well-being of personnel attached to the RBDF’s Northern and Southern Command are of the highest standard,” read the statement.

The past week was a momentous occasion for protein structure prediction, structural biology at large, and in due time, may prove to be so for the whole of life sciences. CASP14, the conference for the biennial competition for the prediction of protein structure from sequence, took place virtually over multiple remote working platforms. DeepMind, Google’s premier AI research group, entered the competition as they did the previous time, when they upended expectations of what an industrial research lab can do. The outcome this time was very, very different however. At CASP13 DeepMind made an impressive showing with AlphaFold but was ultimately within the bounds of the usual expectations of academic progress, albeit at an accelerated rate. At CASP14 DeepMind produced an advance so thorough it compelled CASP organizers to declare the protein structure prediction problem for single protein chains to be solved.
