(WAFF) - Huntsville Hospital CEO David Spillers says that John Hunt Park will serve as north Alabama’s large-scale vaccination clinic. Spillers made the announcement during the Wednesday Huntsville-Madison County COVID-19 briefing that happens weekly. On Wednesday, when the news was announced, you had to certify that you were a Madison County resident to sign-up on Huntsville Hospital’s waitlist. The Hospital said on Thursday that requirement has been removed from their online form, and that the clinic is open to residents outside of Madison County.

Starting Monday, Spillers said they plan to administer 1,000 more shots per day at John Hunt. This would put the daily number of doses near 2,000 per day, or three doses every minute, Spillers said.
