This is after a house plan that was introduced yesterday collapsed, bringing the resumption of this effort in the senate, but those efforts resume dangerously close to this debt ceiling deadline. Senate republicans and democrats worked through the night on a bill to reopen the government and avoid a default. Majority leader harry reid and Minority Leader Mitch Mcconnell quickly resumed their efforts after talks in the house fell apart. We felt blindsided by the news from the house, but this isnt the first time.
