One of the key policy makers when it comes to Telecommunications Policy. Congressman doyle, in this past year, what has your subcommittee accomplished when it comes to Telecommunications Policy . We have been very busy on the communications and technology subcommittee. Tomorrow, we will be on the floor with stella. Something that the senate has had a hard time marking up a bill. We were able to mark up in my subcommittee in full committee. We will have that on the floor tomorrow in the suspension calendar. We look to pass it tomorrow and get it to the senate. We have already done robo calls. That stopped the issue americans have wanted us to do something about. We passed the amended house bill. Thats over in the senate. Being here. It is a pleasure to be here. With an issuetart in the news this week, states attorneys general investigating google for antitrust. The California Attorney general is not one of the 48. Only two states declined in california is one. I havent had a conversation with the attorney general about it, but google is a californiabased company. If we want to look at how it is doing business practices, it is important to do it in a thoughtful way. I know the department of justice and the federal trade commission are also talking about doing investigations of anticompetitive practices at these companies. And it is good to look at this and investigate it and make sure the companies are behaving. Im nuts or breaking companies up is a good idea. These are Big Companies with a lot of tentacles, a lot of employees, and if you can break up a company like that, manage to do it, there will be unintended consequences. Chairwoman blackburn, what are some of your priorities this year . Oh, we have plenty of priorities. Were looking forward to doing some Good Housekeeping work, if you will, cleaning up at f. C. C. And ntia. Those two agencies also have to go through a reauthorization. F. C. C. Has not been reauthorized since 1990 and ntia since 92. So we are looking forward to moving forward with that. You know, we appropriate in the federal budget every year there are 310 billion dollars that re appropriated over 200 agencies that have not been reauthorized. So thats kind of item number one making certain that we do that. And within that as youre doing reauthorization it is an opportunity to revisit the structure of those agencies. Times have changed since 1990 or 1992. It is time to revisit what those agencies spend their time on. I would say also to make certain that they are focused on their Core Missions and that theyre paying attention to those Core Missions. You know when you go that period of t
