Nagaland: Officers told to instill civic sense

Dimapur, June 3 (EMN): The new chairman of Dimapur district planning and development board (DPDB), MLA Moatoshi Longkumer, urged upon the officers to instill civic sense amongst the public in order to keep the city clean. Addressing the first DPDB meeting after bifurcation of Dimapur district on June 3, Moatoshi exhorted the members to work with diligence by contributing through action and verbal inputs for the betterment of Dimapur, a DIPR report stated. Describing Dimapur as the most happening district in terms of floods, clogged drains, lack of civic sense among the public etc., the chairman expressed optimism that the face of Dimapur could be changed with collective efforts. In this regard, he urged upon the head of offices to work together for the betterment of Dimapur. During the meeting, Moatoshi also proposed for purchasing a truck mounted with street sweeping machine through the common pool fund. He also suggested for construction of more toilets through Swaach Bharat scheme.
